Search Engine Optimisation & Marketing

Search Engine Marketing (SEM) is the process of promoting a website via Search Engines. It involves

  • On-page factors - the research and analysis of keyword phrases, the optimisation of a website and submission to Search Engines.
  • Off-page factors such as link building, domain name considerations, content-based marketing (via blogs and articles) and online social marketing (via Facebook, Twitter, YouTube etc.).
  • Promotion of a website via a PPC Campaign provided through programmes such as Google Adwords.

On-page Factors

On-page optimisation, commonly referred to as Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) represents all the techniques used to legitimately get a website ranking as highly possible in the list of search results returned by a Search Engine - commonly referred to as ‘Organic’ rankings.

With over 90% of Internet users finding websites via a Search Engine it is imperative to have your website optimised to take advantage of this.

Below are the key components of our search engine optimisation process:

Keyword Analysis

After developing a list of potential search phrases we refine these with you. They are then analysed to assess how effective each one is. The goal is to identify phrases with maximum search popularity but a minimum level of competition.

Search Engine Optimisation (SEO)

Agreed keyword phrases are utilised in the copy of the site. The hidden HTML code is also optimised to make it as "search engine friendly" as possible. We also modify other technical areas to help the Search Engines properly index your site.

Submission

We register sites manually with top global Search Engines (Google, MSN and Yahoo!) and Directories who account for over 90% of Search Engine usage worldwide.

Off-page factors

Off- page factors represent all techniques used to build the popularity and credibility of a website.

Whilst effective Search Engine optimisation is crucial for results this will only prepare a website for indexing by the Search Engines and is not an effective Search Marketing strategy on its own. In order to achieve Search Engine rankings, it is necessary to build the popularity of the website by obtaining relevant and complementary links to your website. Google in particular rewards sites that show a natural increase, over a period of time, of quality websites linking back to them.

We recommend a combination of reciprocal linking and content based blog and article marketing.

Reciprocal Links Campaign

Having other quality websites linking to yours is essential. Search Engines such as Google use site popularity (as measured by inwards links) as one of the key criteria for returning a site in its search results.

The easiest way to attain inward links is to ‘swap links' with other complementary web sites, known as Reciprocal Linking. We carefully research and find potential sites to swap links with while avoiding sites and practices that could harm your performance.

Article Marketing

Online Article Marketing is a type of advertising in which our team of web copywriters writes short articles, on your behalf, related to your industry. These articles are made available for distribution and publication on the internet and each article contains a link back to the author’s website.

As each Article is distributed or syndicated out to publishers this increases the exposure of the business, greatly increases the one way backlinks to the author’s website resulting in higher Search Engine rankings, and may generate extra traffic.

Blog Marketing

Blog marketing is the term used to describe internet marketing via web blogs. Search Engines monitor the frequency of updates and increases to a website's content. These updates are factored into their ranking algorithm contributing to overall Search Engine rankings.

Gaining exposure for your blog is critical to building a following, readership, and high search engine rankings. We recommend at least a monthly post on industry news, internal press releases or any other topics you wish to talk about. We can also provide tips, techniques and guidelines on the writing of these blogs. We then submit your post to the top high Page Rank Blog Submission Directories resulting in valuable links back to your site.

PPC Campaigns

A PPC Campaign is recommended for new sites to generate immediate traffic that may take some months to improve in organic rankings.

Google Adwords Campaigns

This can be a complementary strategy that is implemented while your site is being optimised or can be used as a long term strategy to build brand awareness and extra exposure. It is completely flexible and can be modified to fit a budget and terminated once your site is achieving good organic rankings.

Adwords campaign can be very effective when:

  • Your site is new and may not appear in Google rankings for some months.
  • You want to target specific markets or niches not covered in depth with your normal Search Engine Marketing.
  • You want to test certain phrases or markets for interest in your Web Site.
  • You have a fixed advertising budget that you need to manage directly.
  • Your site or project has a limited life span and you cannot wait to achieve organic results in the Search Engines.
