Your Website Design Should Reflect Your Personal Brand

We all have a personal brand; a clear expectation when others think of you. Developing your personal brand is about understanding yourself, what you have to offer and importantly how you can use your brand for greater success.  So in order to attract opportunities in today’s competitive market you need to ensure that your personal brand is a strong, positive one.

The same follows for your website. Your website design and functionality should also showcase your company  brand and  if you are the focus of your business, then your personal brand as well.

You and your website are your business’s most powerful marketing tool.  Why would you have a strong and positive personal brand if you have a website that lets you down.

I see it time and time again when I meet with someone and check out their website.  Their website does not reflect who they are and perhaps if I hadn’t met them first then I wouldn’t even stay long enough on their website to find out more.  Most people in business take care of their appearance and this should follow with the website too. A poor website creates a first impression to your potential client that you can’t afford.  Create a great impression and the enquiries will follow.

“Why are my competitors more successful than me?"  Well, this could be due to a variety of reasons of course but one of the first areas I suggest looking at is your website.  Your website is your shop window, whether you have a physical shop window or not (some people will find you first via your website rather than driving or walking past).

Website design does not need to be a huge expense. Good design and website usability is the key so make sure that you work with a website design and development company that understands that a successful website is not just about how it looks. It also has to perform for you – otherwise there is no point in having one.
